There are a number of methods you can use for cleaning your filigree jewellery;
Several of our customers have said that they have cleaned their silver jewellery with toothpaste, so today I have decided to try this method and share the results with you.
To start with cleaning any filigree work use a soft brush to remove any excess dirt,
following this I coated my bracelet with toothpaste and then proceeded to scrub it with my toothbrush & hot water (recommend soft bristles for this method of cleaning).
I think I was fairly persistent with my scrubbing and can definitely see a change in the bracelet – photos below, and Seba Dizajn smells minty fresh.
Use a soft cloth of strong tissue to buff the silver work for an additional shine.
AFTER
Although not 100% sold on the toothpaste cleaning method I can see a change (I think I preferred the darker colours as they highlight the filigree work – will have to take the bracelet swimming tomorrow!). On a different note, I may have found my new favourite prop for taking bracelet photos.
For now I’m off to buy myself a new toothbrush before the Konzum closes, thanks for stopping by.
